Depending on the type of business, registration with the Washington Secretary of State and/or business license may be required to open an account with us. To make the business account opening process easier for you, we will make the effort to verify your business license or Secretary of State registration using online public records rather than requiring you to provide us with written proof.
Sole proprietorships that are not using a tradename are not required to have a business license or registration with the Secretary of State to open a business account with us. Sole proprietorships using a tradename are required to have a business license to open a business account.
General partnerships are not required to register with the Secretary of State but a business license is required to open a business account with us. A copy of a partnership agreement is also needed to open a business account.
Limited Partnerships, LLCs, LLPs and Corporations are required to have a business license and registration with the Secretary of State to open a business account with us. A copy of a partnership agreement or a copy of the Operating Agreement for LLCs is also needed to open a business account.
Requirements for Non-Profit Organizations vary depending on the nature of the organization. Registration with the Secretary of State is generally required to open a business account. A business license may be required to open a business account if the organization conducts business-type activities.
